This is the last of the color grain pens and probably my favorite, it's called "Southwest" and it has chrome hardware.

Lacewood Funline

This Funline is done in Lacewood with brushed gold hardware.

Acrylic Funline pen

This is a Funline pen, similar to the slimlines that I was doing before. It is done in an acrylic called "Magenta Bliss" with satin pearl hardware.

Another new acrylic

This is another Polaris pen kit done in "Orange and Gold" with gold hardware. I also have pictured the remaining piece of acrylic to show what they start out as.

New Acrylic pen

This is an acrylic pen done in "Banana Split" with gold hardware.

Color Grain 3

This pen is done in "Oceana" with gold hardware.

Color Grain 2

This pen is done with "Gold Rush" and gun metal hardware.

Color grain1

The color of this pen is called "Night Fire" and it has gun metal hardware.

Denim pen with copper hardware

I got in a new shipment of pen kits and get to try out new hardware for my pens, I thought that copper would go well with the denim.

Dovetailed Grease Pot

This is a dovetailed grease pot used to store bee's wax in. I saw it on The Woodwrights Shop and had to make one myself. The top lid is cut to an angle that holds the lower lid shut, which is kept in place by the dovetail inlay. When you swing the top lid to the side you can push the lower lid back and swing it to the side revealing the storage compartment.

2x4 Chairs

This is the best pic I have of the chairs I make right now, the rest were on my phone and I haven't transferred them yet. They are constructed entirely from 2x4's ripped down, or cut to shape.

Refinished Chairs

This is one of the chairs I refinished for Monteagle Inn, as usual I didn't take a before picture. They were in pretty rough shape so I had to take them completely apart, sand them down, reassemble them using larger (non rusted) screws, and re-stain them.

Latest Cherry Bowl

This is the bowl that was on the chuck posted earlier, I finally finished it tonight. It's out of the same cherry as before.

Four jaw chuck

This is a pic of the four jaw chuck I got for my lathe, it has the flat plates and soft grips on for finishing the bottom. It also has jaws to grip the rough bottom shown and some smaller jaws for small pieces and to grip centered holes from the inside.

Denim Blanks

These are a couple of denim blanks ready to have the brass tubes glued in and turned. This is what you start with using any kind of wood or acrylic for a two piece pen.

New Lumber

I got some new lumber today from woodcraft to make some more pens, I ordered about 35 pen kits the other night so hopefully I can get enough made up to put in stores by next week. The first pic is Bubinga, it should make some nice pens and I also got it because Sandy likes to say "Bubinga". The second pic is more Purpleheart from South America, I wanted people to see what it looks like raw and yes that's the natural color. The third pic is Lacewood from Australia, I haven't worked with it before but I couldn't pass up the look and can't wait to see what it looks like turned.

Cedar bird houses

I haven't made these in awhile because they require about an hour each at the drill press. They are made by hollowing out seasoned cedar logs and have a hinged door on the bottom to clean out the old birds nest each year.

Oak Table Tops

I made these tops last year out of old barn lumber, the tables were from Lowes but had the cheap laminate tops. The second picture is what they looked like when purchased, and the first is the barn lumber. We have three of these in the living room.

New shelves

These are shelves I made a couple of weeks ago for the shop, the materials were recycled from old shelving units I had at the video store.

Walnut and Purple Heart purse pens

The walnut pen is the first I've made from walnut, which came from a tree I took down several years ago. The purple heart was purchased with Sewanee in mind and hopefully will be a big seller whenever I get my pens into craft fairs and local stores.

Where the magic happens

Thanks to Sandys uncle Jimmy Skelton I have this lathe that allows me to do my turnings. It's an old simple lathe, just the way I like it, easy to fix and all steel construction. Hopefully it will still be going strong long after I'm gone.

Antler slimline

I had a lot of small pieces left over after cutting up some anlters to make the bullet pens so I decided to make a slimline pen of all antler.

Another Denim Pen

I had enough left over from my first denim block to do another pen. This one is a slimline pen and I put the grooves on for a grip.

These are some of the first pens I made, the top one is made from deer antler and the others made from Rosewood.

Cherry Bowls

These are small cherry bowls made from a tree that came down in the recent tornado that hit midway.

First Acrylics

The two pens in the middle are the first two acrylic pens I've done, the one on the left is made from Purple heart and the one on the right is a laminate called autum camo.

Denim pen

I put this pen together last night, it's the first one I've done and the first one of it's kind I know of. I plan on making many more and hopefully making them available at a couple of local shops.
